Taylor Swift & Kamala Harris

Taylor Swift Stands By Harris For The U.S. Presidential Election

Taylor Swift, America’s most celebrated pop-culture figure with a global fanbase, publicly supported Vice President Kamala Harris after the presidential debate on Tuesday.

Ms. Swift’s endorsement was given shortly after the presidential debate in Philadelphia between Ms. Harris and former President Trump, in which she mentioned Ms. Harris as an unrivaled validator in the realm of celebrities.

The pop star also wrote on her Instagram saying that she will be voting for Harris because “she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader, and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.”

Swift also expressed that she felt encouraged and amazed by Harris’ choice of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate, she also praised him as an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to own her body for decades.

The Grammy-winning artist also said that “I’ve done my research, and I’ve made my choice. Your research is all yours to do, and the choice is yours to make. I also want to say, especially to first time voters: Remember that in order to vote, you have to be registered! I also find it’s much easier to vote early. I’ll link where to register and find early voting dates and info in my story.”

Swift, who is 34 years old, ended her message with a sign as “Childless Cat Lady,” which is a reference used by Trump’s running mate, Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio, to refer a woman who doesn’t have any kids. Swift shared a picture of herself with her cat, Benjamin Button, who was featured on the cover of Time magazine alongside the singer.

Democrats were eagerly awaiting Swift’s endorsement. In recent years, she has taken on a more political stance and has started to speak out more on topics like abortion rights. However, its exact timing came as somewhat unexpected.
